NEWS AND EVENTS
The Friends of the Sanctuary strive to provide and/or facilitate various special events and presentations for their members and the public throughout the year. These events are held inside the Visitor Centre or outside on the grounds or both, and in most cases they are free of charge. The Sanctuary Visitor Centre is located along hwy #2 midway between Upper Canada Village and the village of Ingleside. You may also exit off the #401 at either the Upper Canada Village or the Ingleside exit. In both cases go south to Hwy #2.
Starry, Starry Night..........By the Light of the Silvery Moon...
Friends of the Sanctuary are keeping their fingers crossed that the weather cooperates for their Guided Moonlight Ski and Snowshoe events of the 2012 season.
Novice and experienced skiers alike are invited to join us for our second wonderful evening of skiing on candle-lit trails under a moonlight sky on Saturday evening, March 10, 2012 at 7:00 p.m . Afterwards enjoy a hot beverage with new friends around a cozy fire. We have ski and snowshoe equipment available if required. (more info. below)
A $5.00 donation to the Friends of the Sanctuary is requested for this event.
As always, the Visitor Centre will be open in the afternoon on the weekends only from 12:00 until 4:00 but will re-open at 6:30 to greet anyone who wants to join in the evening fun. Please call the Visitor Centre at 613-537-2024 between 12:00 and 4:00 to confirm trail and weather conditions for this evening event. The more the merrier...........hope we see you there!

Christmas Party
The Friends of the Sanctuary held their annual Christmas Party for Members and Invited Guests only at the Visitor Centre in the Sanctuary on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Activities began at 1 pm and dining at 4 pm. By all accounts it was a lovely party and was enjoyed by the gathering. We had a smaller crowd at the potluck this year but the food and company was great. More children attended which was nice and also a couple of very young babies.
Rosemary Rutley was our entertainment and presented a wonderful show of her "inner woman" ZELDA. Everyone had a great seat for this wonderful annual event.
